- Explore the importance of honest self-examination, learning how to quiet one's mind, and nurturing the inner self.
The Presenters:
Donna-Lee Smith, R.D., B.Sc., is a Dietitian with 14 years of experience in community nutrition. She has long recognized the special challenges and needs of clients whose eating poses a health risk, yet is resistant to change because it is tied in with deeply rooted emotional and spiritual issues.

Carrie is a Marriage and Family therapist from Meadowbrook Counseling Associates in the Markham area. As a mother of 4 daughters, pre-teen and older, she has a strong interest in helping women of all ages with body image, self-esteem and self-expression/assertiveness issues (issues that contribute to the development of eating disorders). She will be speaking to family members and friends of individuals with eating disorders, to bring a greater understanding of what are some of the signs to look for, what are do's and don'ts when approaching a eating disorder sufferer; what are ways to prevent food preoccupation in the family and the community and how and when to get help.
