Service Details

Personal philosophy on food/weight issues is non-dieting, weight acceptance.
Treatment description
Clients will engage in a therapeutic relationship that explores and works through their current experiences of themselves, their bodies (sense of embodiment and/or disembodiment), current and past relationships and ways of being in their world. This may include understanding parts of self that seem in conflict, working on enriching healthy patterns of relating to others, and learning attuned eating and general self-attunement.

Other notes
My philosophy emphasizes a feminist, interpersonal approach that examines food and eating and their roles in a person's life. The goal is to be able to eat with hunger and stop with satisfaction/fullness, and be able to understand and manage all the other feelings, thoughts, sensations and relationships in healthy ways without using food or eating to self-regulate or negotiate the complicated world.
