Treatment description
Treatment Options
1) Inpatient Services
Individuals in medical crisis are treated as inpatients until stabilized.
2) Outpatient Services
This treatment is for children and teens who don't need more intense intervention or who are continuing after having stayed in the hospital as an inpatient or attended day treatment. Children or teens have access to personal, nutritional, and family therapy. The therapy could be mainly geared towards exploring personal issues or could concentrate specifically on how to change behaviours associated with eating disorders.
3) Day Treatment
This is a more structured program designed for teens aged 12-18. It runs 8-10 hours per day Monday to Friday and provides nutritional support and various group therapies. Academic programming is offered in a on-site classroom throughout the school year. Along with group based activities, this program also addresses the personal needs and goals of each individual.
4) Family-Based Intensive Treatment
This service is designed for families with a youth suffering from an eating disorder who is out of the hospital. This program aims to support the child or teen and coach the parents through the recovery process. Family therapy sessions are designed to help with weight restoration, returning responsibility for eating to the child or teen, and establishing a healthy identity.
