Healthy lifestyle activities and programs description
Are you preoccupied with your body image or struggling with an eating disorder? Heather works with individuals, families, and groups to identify body distortion, unhealthy eating patterns, irrational beliefs, and distorted thinking. Heather will teach you how to develop healthier ways to strengthen your body and calm your mind. I facilitate groups that focus on healthy nutrition, achieving a sense of balance, increasing self-esteem, as well as, developing strategies for managing stress, enhancing communication and improving self-talk.
Treatment description
Heather Kempton is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and holds a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She works for a non-profit agency in the mental health and addictions field, as well as has a private clinical practice in which her approach empowers the individual to find psychological insight, spiritual reflection, emotional regulation, physiological and energy awareness in their quest towards self transformation.
Heather's approach is unique in that it combines elements of physical fitness with cognitive behavioural therapy that train an individual on how to reduce and manage tension, obsessive thoughts, anxiety, depression and addictive behaviours. Heather helps one to bring clarity to their life purpose while achieving optimal balance in one?s behaviours and life tasks. She views both psychological and physical health as equally important in helping people to discover how to move from disconnection into connection with themselves and others. Heather helps people to establish a sense of belonging through helping them to make sense of their reality and empowering them to face their fears.
