The Dove Self-Esteem Fund is incredibly proud to be the presenting sponsor of Shades of Grey: Body Image and Self-Esteem and an on-going partner and supporter of NEDIC since 2004.
The Dove Self-Esteem Fund is a national resource, established as a long-term initiative linked to Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty. The Dove Self-Esteem Fund has a dual mandate: to develop tools that help Canadian women and girls build stronger self-esteem and to support Canadian organizations, such as NEDIC, that foster a broader definition of beauty and positive self-image among girls and women.
The Dove Self-Esteem Fund provides financial support to NEDIC, as well as the Quebec Association for assistance to persons suffering from Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia (ANEB).
We have also developed several tools and resources for Canadians. These include the Real Me Experience (www.realme.ca) developed by NEDIC with support from the Dove Self-Esteem Fund to help girls to learn about what influences their self-esteem and body image and to offer strategies to strengthen those often vulnerable areas, as well as Real Beauty School Program, a free resource specifically designed to open discussion on self-esteem, media and image-related issues within the classroom.
The goal of the Fund is to be an agent of change in the area of self-esteem, particularly related to body image.
